He examined the need for investment in transmission and current legislative policies. ITC has established a stronghold in the Kansas region, evidenced by the expansions in Kansas and the Midwest, with the V-Plan and Spearville-Axtell (KETA) Projects as specific examples, and sponsorship of this Summit further establishes ITC’s leadership position in the energy field.

    Among more than 250 energy industry leaders and stakeholders, Carl was a key participant in the roundtable discussion led by Governor Brownback, which focused on all forms of enery, including wind, oil, gas and biofuels, as well as and water conservation. At the governor’s roundtable, Carl was joined by Dave VanderGriend, ICM; Tom Robb, Abengoa; Rob Freeman, Tradewind; Jeff Roskam, KABB; Jay Caspary, Southwest Power Pool; Brad Dixon, Kansas Gas Service; Ed Cross, KIOGA; John Graham, BP Wind Energy; and Patti Petersen-Klein, Kansas Corporation Commission. Summit presenters included Mark Ruelle, President, CFO - Westar Energy; Steve Rus, Executive Vice President - Black & Veatch; Dave Lucas, VP/Energy Sales for the Central Midwest Region - Siemens Energy; and Erik Bartsch, Exploration and Appraisal Manager - Shell Oil.
